Claire Foster was born and raised in Orange County, California. She graduated Cum Laude from the University of Puget Sound in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts in History. While at UPS, Claire was the recipient of the merit-based Dean’s Scholarship and several other scholarships for her participation in the history department, environmentalism, and religious life.
Claire received her Juris Doctor in 2025 from the University of California, Irvine School of Law where she earned the Dean’s Award for excellence in the Domestic Violence Clinic and the Faculty Award for excellence in Trial Advocacy. At UCI Law, Claire served as the Volume 15 Editor-in-Chief for the UC Irvine Law Review where she oversaw a staff of 90 other students. Claire also served as a Community Fellow, Admissions Ambassador, and as the Student Honor Code Board Representative for 2 years. While in the Immigrant Rights Clinic, Claire advocated for immigrants seeking parole and helped secure their release from the High Desert Detention Center. As an Advanced Student in the Domestic Violence Clinic, she conducted numerous full evidentiary hearings on behalf of clients seeking domestic violence restraining orders. She also presented at local high schools to educate students about healthy relationships and preventing teen dating violence.
Claire was deeply committed to the Pro Bono Program at UCI Law, contributing her time to more than 30 local and national organizations, such as the ACLU, Community Legal Aid SoCal, Gifford’s Law Center, and the Mississippi Center for Justice. Across her three years of study, she amassed 677.25 pro bono hours—the second-most in UCI Law history. She went on to earn seven awards for her pro bono service, including “Outstanding Service to Voters with Disabilities,” Most Pro Bono Hours, and the Association of American Law Schools Pro Bono Honor Roll. Claire also served as a student leader for the Street Law program where she facilitated law classes that introduced high school students to the legal field.
During her law school summers, Claire worked as a Research Specialist in the UCI Law Library as a Summer Clark at Andrews & Higgins.
In her free time, Claire enjoys knitting, baking, and winning at trivia.
